Text:
I see a rabbit the height of two meters in the desert. A zebra making a 360 turn to show me the stripes - on request. Little suns in the waters reflecting. It could not exist without I within. An alien flower.

Niina Turtola, one of the finalists of Namibia’s 2011 Month of Photography, is presenting a meditative photo exhibition entitled Beyond Colored Waters at the FNCC gallery. Niina is a visual artist, photographer and designer from Finland currently living in Windhoek, where she works as Head of Department for New Media Design at the College of the Arts.

“Photographs are the continuation of the unexplainable subconscious being – a moment added intuitive action”, says Niina. “The flow in the context becoming existence. An existing philosophy. My philosophy. Beyond Colored Waters depicts within that cannot exist without.”
